Ask The California Employment Tax And Payroll Tax Attorney – IRS Extends Deadlines For Taxpayers Impacted By Terrorist Attacks In Israel

Taxpayers impacted by terrorist attacks in Israel may qualify for tax relief. The IRS is extending certain deadlines that occurred or will occur during the period from October 7, 2023, through October 7, 2024. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until October 7, 2024, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period. For more information see IRS Notice 2023-71 (October 13, 2023).

The above extension will also apply to The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Individuals and businesses affected by terrorist action in Israel that are required to file Reports of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR). This extension applies to 2022 FBAR filings.
